PROBLEM: I can't get DYP to run in the Civilization 3: Conquests expansion.
Double Your Pleasure 2.01x was created with Play The World, and so far only runs under Play The World. We may make it compatible in the future, but right now we are focusing on a DYP-remake, which will be a Conquests exclusive. This is called The Rise and Rule mod.

PROBLEM: After installing DYP, I can't start Civilization III/Play The World.
Something bad has happened to your installation. It may be caused by corrupt files or that you were not running the most current version of the game. Reinstalling Civilization 3 should fix this problem. Verify that you can start the game, before attempting to reinstall the DYP mod.
Make sure you don't overwrite any of the main game's files. The DYP mod should be installed to the Scenarios folder, that is a sub-folder of the Civ3PTW folder. If it is installed there it will not modify the original game's files in any way.

PROBLEM: When I get to the main game screen, it still says that I'm running Play the World version 1.27f, and doesn't mention the mod.
Due to a change from Civ3 to Play the World, in the way mods are handled, we can no longer display the version of DYP on the main game screen, since the mod is no longer loaded as default.
|
PROBLEM: When I press the New Game button, my starting unit is still called a 'Settler' instead of the DYP mod's 'Clan'.
Another change from Civ3 to Play the World. You must press 'Load Scenario' and load any of the DYP 2.01x files to ensure that you're starting a game with the correct version of DYP. Selecting 'New Game' will always give you the default game rules for Play The World.

PROBLEM: When I build one of the Asian flavor units, some of the Rifleman flavor units and certain other units, I get a 'missing file' error and the game exits.
Please check in your Civ3PTW folder, if there is a folder there called 'Extras'. This contains some units that were included in the original release of PtW but apparently were left out by some
(yet unknown) localized versions or updated versions. If the folder is not there, please go to the downloads page and get the Extras patch.
If you're using the version of PtW included with the Conquests expansion you don't have an 'Extras' folder and will need the patch mentioned above.

- Uninstall Civilization III patches listed there.
- Uninstall Civilization III.
- Manually delete the Civilization III folder (by default located in C:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive)
- Reboot your computer
- Install Civilization III (no need to patch it, as the latest version, 1.29f is included in Play The World)
- Install Civilization III: Play The World (unless you have Conquests, in which case you install that and skip the next item).
- Install the official Patch 1.27f and verify that you can load the game
- Install the Double Your Pleasure mod.

If you didn't solve your problem, please see if it has already been reported in the Double Your Pleasure forum, and if you don't see it, go ahead and report it yourself.
Important note: When submitting possible bugs, be sure to include
- The version of Civilization III you're playing (including any 'packaging' information, like whether it was bought through a site that sells game-downloads, if you bought a bundled product like the Game of the year edition, or similar)
- What version of the mod you're playing (note that if you have upgraded in the middle of the game, you are actually playing the older version)
- As detailed information as you can - exact error messages are needed, and if possible a savegame where a taking only a few steps, should reproduce the bug
