PROBLEM: After installing DYP, I can't start Civilization III.
Something bad has happened to your installation. It may be caused by corrupt files or that you were not running the most current version of the game. Reinstalling Civilization 3 should fix this problem. Verify that you can start the game, before attempting to reinstall the DYP mod.

PROBLEM: When I get to the main game screen, it still says that I'm running Civ3 version 1.29f, and doesn't mention the mod.
You installed the mod to the wrong directory. Check the installation guide for the correct way to install.

Your main game screen should look like this, with DYP version 1.01 R installed
|
|
If your main game screen looks like this, the DYP mod has not been installed correctly
|
PROBLEM: When I press the New Game button, nothing happens
This usually happens if you have not patched the game to version 1.29f. Check the Add/Remove Programs section in your Control Panel. If Civilization III Patch 1.29f is not listed there, you need to install it, and reinstall the mod afterwards.
If you do have patch 1.29f installed, a file has most likely become corrupted, and you need to reinstall the game as per the instructions below, under the "Troubleshooting in General" header.
|
PROBLEM: When I press the Load Scenario button, and load a scenario, I get an error about missing files
You shouldn't use the Load Scenario button unless you have downloaded a scenario created specifically for the version of DYP you have currently installed.
Even simple maps that were not created with DYP will be lacking the new Resources that have been added in the mod, making you unable to build many of the units and improvements.

Troubleshooting in general: If you have a problem with the game after installing, try uninstalling Civ3, following this procedure:
- Back up any files you want to keep (modded files, savegames etc.)
- Go to the Add/Remove Programs section of the Control Panel
- Uninstall Civilization III patches listed there.
- Uninstall Civilization III.
- Manually delete the Civilization III folder (by default located in C:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive)
- Reboot your computer
- Install Civilization III
- Install the official patch 1.29f and verify that you can load the game
- Install the Double Your Pleasure mod.
|
If you didn't solve your problem, please see if it has already been reported in the Double Your Pleasure forum, and if you don't see it, go ahead and report it yourself.
Important note: When submitting possible bugs, be sure to include
- The version of Civilization III you're playing (including any 'packaging' information, like whether it was bought through a site that sells game-downloads, if you bought a bundled product like the Game of the year edition, or similar)
- What version of the mod you're playing (note that if you have upgraded in the middle of the game, you are actually playing the older version)
- As detailed information as you can - exact error messages are needed, and if possible a savegame where a taking only a few steps, should reproduce the bug
