PROBLEM 1: How do I load the Rise and Rule Mod
In the first game menu select 'Civ-Content' and browse the list of scenarios until you find one beginning with RAR 1.02. Read the descriptions of the files you find, and then select the one you wish. Press the 'Ok' button, to load the mod.

PROBLEM 2: After installing RAR, I can't start Civilization III: Conquests.
The RAR mod doesn't change any executable or critical files, so unless you have accidentally installed the mod in the wrong folder, over-writing some of the main game's files, this is just a coincidence. A reinstallation of Civilization III: Conquests should fix the problem.

PROBLEM 3: I can't seem to find the RAR 1.xx basic.biq in my Civ-Content menu/Scenarios folder
The installation program defaults to the standard Civilization III: Conquests path
- Program Files/Infogrames Interactive/Civilization III/Conquests/Scenarios.
If you installed Civilization III and Conquests to a different folder, you'll need to make sure to change the path in the RAR installer accordingly.
Attention: If you have a repackaged version of Civilization III (Game of the Year, Gold Edition, Civ3 Complete or similar) it is very possible that the default installation folder has been changed to
- Program Files/Atari Interactive/Civilization III/Conquests/Scenarios
If that is the case, you also have to change the path in the RAR installer to match.

PROBLEM 4: I suddenly get an error message that an Artwork file is missing or couldn't be loaded
Unless you have installed Civilization III: Play The World as a stand-alone installation (that is, not as part of the Conquests package or as part of a re-released package) you're most likely missing a bunch of units that were only included in the first release of Play The World. Those units have fortunately been made available with the Extras patch which can be downloaded and installed to the Conquests/Scenarios folder.

General Troubleshooting Tips:
If you didn't solve your problem, please see if it has already been reported in the Double Your Pleasure forum, and if you don't see it, go ahead and report it yourself.
Important note: When submitting possible bugs, be sure to include
- The version of Civilization III and Civilization III:Conquests you're playing (including any 'packaging' information, like whether it was bought through a site that sells game-downloads, if you bought a bundled product like the Game of the year edition, or similar)
- What version of the mod you're playing (note that if you have upgraded in the middle of the game, you are actually playing the older version)
- As detailed information as you can - exact error messages are needed, and if possible a savegame where a taking only a few steps, should reproduce the bug
